Feeding Guide

 *1 Level Scoop ≈ 8.5g of powder

1 scoop of power added to 50ml water yields approximately 56ml of formula. This is a general feeding guide only. Infants may need more or less formula. Greater reliance should be placed on solid foods in addition to breast milk and/or formula for nutrition from around 6 months.

Directions

• Step 1:Always wash hands with soap and water and dry using a clean cloth. Clean the preparation surface thoroughly before preparing a feed.
• Step 2:Clean all feeding equipment in hot soapy water and rinse thoroughly. Next, sterilise all feeding equipment by submerging bottles, teats and lids in a pan of water and boiling for 5 minutes, or using an approved steriliser.
• Step 3:Boil safe drinking water and allow to cool for 30 minutes.
• Step 4:Refer to the feeding guide below to check how much powder and water is needed. Pour the correct amount of previously boiled (now cooled) water into the sterilised bottle.
• Step 5:Use only the enclosed scoop, fill scoop and level off using the built-in leveller on the can. Avoid compacting powder.
• Step 6:Add the exact amount of powder to the water in the bottle. Always add 1 level scoop of powder for each 50ml of water. Cap the bottle and mix thoroughly by shaking gently or swirling the bottle to dissolve the powder.
• Step 7:Check temperature of feed on the inside of your wrist before feeding. It should feel warm, but cool is better than too hot. Feed your baby immediately. Discard any feed that has not been consumed within 1 hour.

We’ve created this formula to follow on from a2 Platinum® Premium infant formula. It is intended for use with infants from 6 months and up.

2. Q:What is a stage 2 formula?

A:a2 Platinum® Premium follow‑on formula is a stage 2 formula intended for infants from six months and older. It complements the introduction of solid foods. The formula includes different levels of certain nutrients, such as iron. Stage 2 formulas may also have a slightly different taste or texture due to their composition.

3. Q:Are stage 2 follow-on formulas harder to digest than stage 1 formulas?

A:Babies differ in how they tolerate different formulas. Some may adapt easily, while others may take time during the transition.

Both a2 Platinum® Premium infant formula and the follow‑on formula are formulated for different stages. The stage 2 version has a different nutrient composition suited for older infants who have begun solids.

The milk used in the follow‑on formula is a2 Milk® from cows naturally producing only A2-type beta‑casein protein.

4. Q:When do you transition your baby from stage 1 formula to stage 2 formula?

A:The timing depends on each baby’s individual readiness but should **not be earlier than six months.

Stage 1 formula is suitable for bottle feeding infants up to around six months and beyond. Follow‑on formulas are intended for use from six months onwards, alongside solid food introduction.

As solid food intake increases, stage 2 formula may help complement your baby’s diet.

Transition decisions can depend on individual progression. Stage 2 formula is formulated with adjusted levels of nutrients such as iron and vitamins to match this stage.

5. Q:How do you switch from stage l formula to stage 2 formula?

A:Taste and texture may vary, so some babies need time to adjust to the follow‑on formula.

A gradual transition over one to two weeks is recommended. This helps your baby adjust without sudden changes.

Introduce feeds gradually: Start by replacing one stage 1 feed per day with stage 2 formula and gradually increase over several days.

Observe tolerance:Monitor your baby’s response. If concerns arise, consult a healthcare professional.

Once your baby adapts well, you can fully replace stage 1 formula with stage 2 follow‑on formula.

6. Q:Can l mix a2 Platinum® Premium infant formula(stage l) and a2 Platinum@Premium Follow-on(stage 2) in the same bottle or cup?

A:Mixing stage 1 and stage 2 formulas is generally not recommended.

By mixing stage 1 and stage 2 baby milk formula, you may disrupt the intended nutritional balance and composition of each formula. This can result in an inconsistent and potentially inadequate supply of nutrients for your baby.

7. Q:Can you give a baby younger than 6 months a2 Platinum@ Premium follow-onformula?

A:Due to its composition, a2 Platinum® Premium follow-on formula (Stage 2) is suitable only for infants over 6 months of age. It should not be fed to a baby under 6 months of age. 

8. Q:How long does a2 Platinum® Premium follow-on formula last?

A:

• Check expiry date of formula on base of can to ensure the a2 Platinum® Premium follow-on formula has not passed its expiry (use-by) date.
• Once a can of powdered a2 Platinum® Premium follow on formula has been opened, it can be kept safely for four weeks if stored in a cool dry place. Discard any unused formula after four weeks.
• Keep the scoop in the can when not in use. Washing is not required after each use—but if the scoop gets wet accidentally, wash and dry it thoroughly before placing it back in the can.
• Always store the formula powder in its original can and securely cover it with the plastic lid to prevent contamination. **Do not transfer to other containers, as this increases the risk of contamination.
